Request to MEA India-Intervene to remove the barriers of Indian engineer’s residence visa renewal in Kuwait The recent Kuwait Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) circular to all labor department’s not to renew the residency visa permits of expatriate engineers unless they obtain a no-objection certificate from Kuwait Engineers Society (KES) creating barriers of Indian engineers residence visa renewal in Kuwait According to this directive, an expatriate engineer must obtain the NOC from Kuwait Engineers Society regarding his/her academic qualification. According to the current rule, the engineering degree must be from an NBA accredited institution. The Kuwait Engineering society updates the list of NBA Accredited institutions across the country including India on yearly basis. Unfortunately most of the Indian engineering colleges /IIT/NIT courses are not included current NBA accredited list. The new directive will affect the expatriate engineers whose engineering degrees are not from the accredited institutions. These engineers having their families with children’s are studying in schools and all of them will face residency visa renewal problem now. As an Indian expatriates association and giving support for Indian community in Kuwait, ONCP Kuwait National Committee President and Loka Kerala sabha member from Kuwait to Kerala Govt.,Mr. Babu Francis sent a detailed letter to Mrs. Sushama Swaraj , Honourable External Affairs Minister and Mr. Prakash Javadekar , Hon’ble Minister of HRD India for to request Kuwait officials for grant more time and necessary steps from our government to add all valid Indian engineering courses under NBA accredited list as urgent basis.
